DESCRIPTION
Organic red lentils are shelled brown lentils. Thanks to their hulling, red lentils are better absorbed by the body. Red lentils are prone to overcooking, so they're best used as an addition to soups, stews, and savory snacks. They're an important part of the diet for vegans and vegetarians because they're an 85% digestible source of protein. They contain many minerals, including potassium to help maintain healthy blood pressure and phosphorus to help regulate metabolism. Lentils also contain a high amount of fiber, which is why people on weight-loss diets eagerly seek them out.
Red lentils are grown in Asia, America, Africa, Australia and the Mediterranean regions of Europe.

PREPARATION
Cook the previously washed lentils in a ratio of 1:2 (1 part lentils to 2 parts water) for approximately 25 minutes. Add salt at the end of cooking.
