Dried plums contain on average five times more vitamin A and seven times more fiber than fresh fruits. This helps regulate the digestive system and prevent constipation. Plums are also anti-atherosclerotic, inhibiting cholesterol absorption. They are also recommended for people struggling with broken capillaries—thanks to their high content of vitamin K, which regulates blood clotting, and vitamin C, which seals blood vessels, plums help get rid of broken capillaries. The high content of vitamin B6 and magnesium in plums has a beneficial effect on the nervous system and also promotes well-being. The fruits effectively inhibit bone loss, thus reducing the risk of osteoporosis.
They can be eaten on their own as a snack or added to various dishes, such as porridge for breakfast or natural yogurt for afternoon tea.
