Date syrup is a thick, sweet liquid derived from dates that is commonly consumed in the Middle East.
The potassium in date syrup supports the circulatory system by lowering blood pressure, while magnesium and calcium improve muscle function. In turn, antioxidants in the form of vitamins A, C, and E reduce oxidative stress, thus preventing obesity. The B vitamins in the syrup regulate metabolism and have a calming effect on the nervous system.
This product is suitable for seasoning homemade cakes, pancakes, pies, or porridge. Date syrup should be avoided by diabetics, date allergy sufferers, and those with irritable bowel syndrome. Its use is also not recommended for people prone to overweight or obesity.
