Natural beta-carotene contains additional antioxidant carotenoids, alpha-carotene, zeaxanthin, lutein, as well as cryptoxanthin naturally present in marine algae (duanellia). The function of beta-carotene is to neutralize the harmful effects of free radicals on the body.
